Image Data offers hybrid solutions that blend digital retrieval, and microfilm/microfiche of digital and paper records. This combination ensures immediate, searchable accessibility to documents (digitally) while keeping a high-quality archive of documents (microfilm), useful in a disaster recovery, business audit, or regulatory fulfillment situation, for example.
What is Microfilming? This procedure is very similar to document scanning in that it is an image capture process, in this case, to film on reels—microfilm—or cut film, microfiche. Microfilm can be marked or blipped to identify the beginning of a document set of key images.
We provide all of these film outputs (including microcards, 3 x 5 microforms, and microprint, 5 x 8 microforms) from paper and also from electronic file versions of computer reports, also called Computer Output Microfiche, or COM.
Why Go Hybrid? Newer regulations in legal, financial and healthcare sectors have increased the accountability that organizations face in managing confidential and business documentation. While many environments migrate to browser-based document management systems, protection of original documents remains tantamount. Using a side-by-side system approach allows the instant access needed for efficient workflows, backed with the assurance of a quality archive for disaster recovery and liability matters.
